Clients

People—
what a design concept!

Most of my clients like to have a job done so that it reflects who they are. Identity is key. Some designers simply want a client so they can pursue their own concepts. Of course some clients want designers to give them identity via new concepts and then adapt themselves to this identity. What is important is a relationship that is synergistic rather than hierarchical.

I feel that my design is client-based. I believe in brainstorming and tweeking. Process involves trial and error, then fine tuning. As a painter I believe in erasure, in design it is the ability to say "no" or "not yet." Sometimes I lose my perspective and fortunately a client brings us back to focus. I value this relationship.

As you can see, my clients are mostly small businesses, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. I've received my business from word-of-mouth and ongoing relationships in the community. Doing good work also helps. I have a particular outlook that translates into style. I have a knowledge of the printing business and know various printers whose expertise I trust.

The interconnection between a variety of relationships creates the business of a community and the quality of those relationships creates an economy worth living—
I like the design in this.
